Last weekend, I participated in a “Potter’s Gathering” workshop hosted at Double Diamond Pottery in Lizzie, NC. Melanie Waters set it up and invited Scott Haines from Morehead City to present on his techniques for throwing tall, extraordinarily light pottery.

Six participants made for a great, small group and kept things lively. I liked the small group setting since we all had great views of what Scott was showing, and we had plenty of opportunity for Scott to help us pick up the techniques.

It was a lot of fun, and I came away feeling like I have new things to try, and lots of ideas to consider.
