The Lenoir County Farmers’ Market, on Herritage Street, near Gordon St., will have their 2012 Grand Opening tomorrow at 11:00AM. If you can be there, you’ll be glad you went. (No, Barley Hollow Pottery won’t be on sale. I still have some work to do to get ready for the market.)
After the opening ceremony, they’re going to serve free lunch, including homemade strawberry ice-cream as long as it lasts. The strawberries are really good this year, so I’ll be begging for a bowl, I’m sure.
In additional to all the great produce that’s already coming in, be sure to check out the improvements to the market itself. The driveway and parking areas have been freshly paved. The bathrooms have been renovated, and you’ll notice lots of nice touches here and there. Kudos to Pat Jenkins and Tammy Kelly and their crew for all the great work on the market.
