You know I’m a big fan of supporting your local artists and businesses. Eastern NC has so much to offer, it’s a source of constant amazement, like our local restaurant, Chef & the Farmer. In addition to showcasing locally grown food and what can be done with it, they’re also the subject of a cool documentary series that will be airing on PBS this fall! That’s the project and that’s where they need some help. Here’s their pitch. Check it out and be a part of it. I’m asking you to join me and make a gift.
A CHEF’S LIFE is a 13 part documentary television series that focuses on authentic Southern food and farming through the eyes of rising star Chef Vivian Howard of Kinston, NC. Vivian has been a semi-finalist for the James Beard Award twice and almost single-handedly recharged agriculture around Kinston with her demand for locally-produced food.
PBS has agreed to begin broadcasting A CHEF’S LIFE in September. That’s a terrific accomplishment, but the filmmakers need to raise another $20,000 in the next two weeks to pay for presenting and publicity costs and give them a jump start on Season Two. This campaign is critical to keeping the series going.
Here is a link to the campaign page which also has a fun preview of the series and a special message from Vivian:http://igg.me/p/429499/x/3538204
